Through the Study More Languages Program, every Au Pair is welcomed to Finland as a member of a Finnish family. Au Pairs can explore the exciting culture of Finland while enjoying the warmth and security of a stable, secure family life. Au Pairs are placed throughout Finland in cities, towns and rural areas.
age 18 – 30 have some child care experience be happy to help with childcare and light housework, usually 25 – 30 hours per week be unmarried and have no children be a non-smoker no criminal record be fit and healthy conversational English level
The Au Pair will live with a carefully screened host family Every consideration will be given to the Au Pair’s preferences concerning ages of children and special requests. Pocket money, minimum of 280€/month (normally 70-80€/week). Private room and full board Au Pairs will have access to an emergency phone number. Possibility to take language course (Finnish, Swedish or English) – paid by the family Accidental insurance 1 week paid holiday after each 6 months
The au pair will provide approximately 25 to 30 hours of childcare and childcare related housekeeping for the host family. As a member of the family, the au pair will be expected to share in the usual household chores along with other family members. The au pair is to be of assistance to the host family and in every way try to fulfil the duties expected. Collaborating agencies will be available to assist both parties, and will assist to resolve any disputes as to appropriate expectations. Au Pairs are responsible for any personal expenses incurred while living in the home of the host family. This would include telephone bills, etc.
The host family will accept the au pair as a member of the family
The host family will provide the au pair with a private room and full board, as well as pocket money throughout his or her stay.
Arrange time for the au pair to attend language classes and participate in cultural opportunities.
Host families accepted by Study More Languages are thoroughly screened to ensure a safe, comfortable home for every au pair. Each prospective host family must submit a lengthy application, undergo an in depth personal interview, provide solid character references, and sign a written statement agreeing to abide by the program’s guidelines.
When sending the au pair application we would like to receive the following documents: The Application form – in English Photos of au pair interacting with family/ children Childcare references (from family members or friends will not be accepted) – in English A criminal record check – in English A medical certificate stating the au pair is physically able to look after children – in English A ‘Dear family’ letter – in English
